숭실대 김영한 교수는 숭실대학교 전자정보공학부에 재직 중이며, 클라우드컴퓨팅 및 네트워크 연구실을 이끌고 있다. 주요 연구 분야는, 오픈소스 기반 클라우드 인프라 시스템 기술 연구, 지능형 클라우드 구축을 통한 클라우드 고가용성 제공 기술, 클라우드 내 차세대 네트워크 기술 기반 가속화 기술, 미래 인터넷 기술 기반 네트워크 구조 연구등이며, 세계적인 표준기관인 IETF에도 정기적으로 참여하여, 국제표준을 만드는데 기여하였으며, 국내에서도 IETF 미러포럼을 통해 국내 표준화의 활성화를 위해 노력하고 있다. 또한, 최근 10년간 50편이상 우수 SCI급 논문을 발표하고 160여건 국내외 특허를 출원등록하는 등 선도 연구자로 활동하고 있으며 이러한 공로로, 2019년에는 해동학술상을 수상하였다. 현재는 한국통신학회 수석부회장 및 대학정보통신 연구센터 협의회 회장으로 활동중이다.
